DERMAL/LIPS FILLERS
A dermal filler is also known as an injectable implant, soft tissue filler, lip filler, or wrinkle filler. FDA-approved, it is used to smooth and/or plump up the facial features, including nasolabial folds. Nowadays, an injectable dermal filler is the most commonly used method to augment the lips. Lips and around the mouth can be filled with a variety of dermal fillers. However, at present, most fillers are derived from compounds similar to hyaluronic acid. A dermal lip filler works by increasing the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin. These fillers revitalize and add volume to the skin, instantly reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and providing a natural soft look.

Lip Filler Your Questions Answered
The lips of our patients are injected only with pure hyaluronic acid. Human cells naturally contain hyaluronic acid, which degrades with age. By injecting this cream or gel into the lip mucosa, it improves volume and moisturizes/improves the texture of the skin. As hyaluronic acid can easily be dissolved if needed, this is by far the safest method to beautify and restore lip volume.
Several independent scientific studies have validated Juvederm’s safety in humans. In the Skin Science Clinic, we won’t inject any new filler brands. Having treated/injected patients’ lips for years, we have discovered that the creamy texture of this product volumizes lips without the dreaded rubbery, hard or “fake” looks other products produce. According to a recent study, Juvederm injectables produce beautiful results under the doctor’s hands. 98 percent of patients reported complete satisfaction with their lips after receiving Juvederm injections.
Natural anatomy plays a very important role in this. One or two sessions may be necessary for a patient with thin lips, while others may only need one.
An anesthetic cream (cream) is applied for twenty minutes prior to the procedure, which completely numbs the lip area and makes the procedure completely tolerable. By strategically injecting through ultra fine needles, razor-sharp definition can be achieved with minimal discomfort. Immediately after the procedure, we apply ice packs to reduce swelling and bruises, and we provide lip balms to minimize any immediate dryness or itch. The final result is visible two weeks after lip filler procedure (please note swelling and bruising may be worse the next day).
The Juvederm Volift results normally last nine months to a year, but lips are mobile, so it generally lasts nine months to a year. Each of our patients will have a very individual need for refreshment/top ups, so this is very much a matter of personal choice. Comparing Juvederm Volift to other dermal filler products, however, we can assure you that it exhibits impressive longevity.
